Photos Photos Photos

Well, I finally got some photos posted and realized that I have thousands!! And tons of video as well. I hope you all enjoy the ones I have put up and anyone who desires to see more is just going to have to sit through the LONG version with me narrating. It may take an entire evening so beware of what you request :)

Anyway, thanks for logging on and following my adventure. Its nice to be home.

Cheers,

Lori

do!

On the Yorktown in Southeast Alaska I got to work with Carla. She is great.

Here we are in our dress up work clothes on my last night.

On one of the last days of my cruises, I got some amazing photos of humpback

whales early in the morning. My camera was broken, but I was borrowing a

camera from one of the crew. This is one of about 20 great photos that I

got.

These humpback whales were lunge feeding on our second week of the Southeast

cruises. I can't describe how incredible a sight it is to see 9 or 10 whales

lunging out of the water at the same time with their mouths agape.

I took this photo on my helicopter trip to a glacier in Skagway. It is a

crevasse on the glacier that we landed on. Flying in a helicopter is one of

the most amazing sensations.

This was taken the last week I was in Glacier Bay early in the morning

around 5:00am. The sun was just coming up and it was beautiful!

This mom and two cub brown bears had to be the highlight of all the bear

sightings. She nursed them right before this photo was taken. Again, I can't

take credit for this photo until I get myself one of those great digital SLR

cameras. Thanks to a passenger.

I saw tons of Puffins! I can now say that I have seen all three species of

Puffins. One of the passengers caught this shot of a tufted puffin taking

off at the Marble Islands in Glacier Bay.

These pink salmon were running in Sitka. There were thousands of them and it

was an incredible sight.

Photo! Glacier Bay - Marjorie Glacier

The first week we were in Glacier Bay I took this shot of the Marjorie

Glacier. Because the sky was overcast, the blue in the glacier made the sky

look pink. It was amazing!

We saw tons of birds in the Aleutian Islands and Bering Sea. Thomas got this

shot of a Murre guarding her egg along the cliffs of St. Paul Island in the

Pribilofs.

I managed to catch this great photo of an Arctic Fox yawning. They are not

scared of people (probably because they are fed). In the winter, this one

will be all white.

There were thousands of fur seals in the Pribilofs. They are beautiful. Here

is a great up close shot (thanks Chris).

Thanks to Chris for this photo of the orca that I only saw from afar in the

Pribilof Islands. I was busy watching fur seals when Cheli and him got to go

out in the zodiac and spend some time with these wonderful creatures. I did

get to see more orcas in Southeast Alaska.

I got lucky and saw a ton of bears on all of the cruises. This is one of the

brown bears from Geographic Harbor. Photo compliments of Thomas who has a

killer camera. He also took the Dalls Porpoise photo. In fact, Thomas or

Natalia took most of my great photos. I have to thank everyone who gave me

photos...I am forever indebted for the amazing images.

I saw a ton of Steller Sea Lions on both cruises. These were frolicking in

the water when we were at the Baby Islands off of Unalaska Island in the

Photo! Crossing the International Date Line

I was probably the only one excited about this event. As you can see it was

cold, rainy and windy. Cheli took the photo from inside the bridge.
